It’s probably OK, I don’t
need to consult my GP right now.

I don’t know if I want to speak to the GP
in person. I’m scared and I don’t want to go too far from home.

Telephone, online and safe in-person consultations available

There are now three easy ways to safely consult your GP: by telephone, online video calls, or in person. Ask your local practice about the best way to speak to your regular GP.

In many circumstances, you will be able to consult your regular GP from the comfort of your own home. These appointments will be conducted over the phone, or video conferencing services such as FaceTime, Zoom, WhatsApp or Coviu. Check with your local practice to find out how to book a telephone or video appointment.

In some circumstances, a face-to-face appointment may be necessary. For example, if you need a physical examination. Check with the practice beforehand for guidance on any precautions to take when visiting.

If you are worried about symptoms of COVID-19, you must call ahead to let your local practice know. They will advise you on what to do next.
