Face-to-face appointments

GPs will always be available for face-to-face appointments if you need them (eg if you require a physical examination). If you’re going to see your GP in person, practice staff will take every possible precaution to keep you safe, including:

  • physical distancing in both waiting areas and consulting rooms
  • wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), such as a mask, when appropriate
  • regularly cleaning with the highest-grade cleaning products
  • undergoing training in infection control

All the care, now in more ways than ever

Phone or video (telehealth)

In these uncertain times you can now chat to your GP via video or phone.
So you get all the care and none of the worry. Appointments are booked just as you normally would – the only thing that changes is that you don’t see the doctor in person.

What it costs

Telehealth services will be bulk billed if you are a Commonwealth Concession Card holder, are under 16 years of age, or considered more vulnerable to COVID-19. If you don’t fit these categories, your GP will likely bill you the same cost as for a face-to-face appointment.
